DEMOSTRACIÓN DE LA LEY DE RENDIMIENTOS DECRECIENTES

Provide students with lots of paper and a working stapler per group.
Divide the class ito large groups (8 or more). Provide each group with a table of production. The stapler is the fix capital. The gropus is to produce as many widgets as they can (fold the paper twice and staple it) within a working day (45 seconds).Start with no labour (L=0) to produce Q=0 . Then increase to L=1 , have the group total production in the 45 seconds. Then increase to L=2 and so until disminishing returns set in ( even negative returns if you like) . Let groups to compute, tabulate and graph their TPP, APP and MPP. Then assign costs, e.g., K=10 , L=2 and let the gropus compute, tabulate and graph the cost variables. They should get something more or less bizarrely similar to nice textbook curves. They will learn about the convenience of abstraction pretty quickly this way.
